Experiencing the natural world through art
Rock of Ages, Burrington Combe
Set off for Cheddar but got side tracked in Burrington Combe with this view of the old ash tree opposite the 'Rock of Ages' where Reverend Toplady was inspired when sheltering in the cleft in a storm to write the popular hymn in 1763. First days painting I had it all to myself before van loads of Mendip Outward bound school parties arrived on day 2 to do rock climbing and caving.
