Staddle Stone and Trug. Carolyn Lamb. Oil. 23 July 2016. This staddle stone had white flowering alpines growing on top. My outdoor painting season has come to an end early this year as I had my hand op on September 1st so have to rest from art for a bit.
Here is one of the oils I did in July painting in the garden at Rose Cottage, East Harptree.
27 oils so far which is only one less than last year.
Staddle stones are now seen as garden ornaments but were originally made to go under haystacks and wooden barns to keep them dry and off the ground .
