Second Severn bridge from Black Rock Jetty, Portskewett. Carolyn Lamb. 2019. Oil. 8x8". Painting yesterday at Black Rock , Portskewett. It is half way between both bridges on the Welsh side. I actually started this in June 2016 but this was my first chance to return return to finish it off. The jetty in the foreground was where ferry boats from New Passage on the Bristol side landed in the times before the Severn bridges were built. Hollyhock Pathway, Rock House, Elberton. Carolyn Lamb. 2019. Oil. 8x8". Painting on Saturday with Clifton Art Club at the lovely gardens of Rock House, Elberton. Last time I painted the entrance gate from outside, but this visit was attracted by the lovely display of hollyhocks along the path to the front door. Finished it at 7pm. Cheddar Gorge from the top. Carolyn Lamb. 2019. Oil. 12x12". Most of my Cheddar views are from below looking upwards, but I climbed up the walkers path for this one from on top of the Pinnacles looking down towards Cheddar Village. Which has grown hugely and stretches towards Cheddar reservoir. On the far right is Crooks Peak, the lump on the left is Brent Knoll then the Bristol Channel and the distant Quantocks. |
