![]() Time for the annual 'girls weekend' in Scotland. This is the view from my bedroom at Elsick House, just south of Aberdeen. I had intended to paint a larger picture but it didn't happen. When I got my acrylics out I found several tubes had dried up ! By cutting the blue and yellow tubes in half, I managed to get a tiny amount of paint out. By keeping small (5x7") I got just about enough for the blue sky and green shrub underlayers . Despite only having limited colours I think I did well capturing this lovely autumn garden.

Ran round six London exhibitions on Monday. Three at the Royal Academy - 'Matisse and his studio; Jasper Johns; Dali and Duchamp, two at the National Gallery - Preraphaelites and the Arnolfini portrait and Monochrome, and Cezanne Portraits at the National Portrait Gallery. Seeing their works gets you thinking about whether you have had similar ideas in your own work. |
