April would normally be the start of my outdoor painting season, but as we have to Stay Home, Save Lives, Protect the NHS, I am painting in the garden by the pond.  Sea Creatures. Carolyn Lamb. pencil and watercolour. 21 April 20. This was an unusual challenge as the theme was to look for an image within something else.
PAREIDOLIA noun [ U ] a situation in which someone sees a pattern or image of something that does not exist, for example a face in a cloud, the man in the moon. The suggestion was looking for images in crumpled fabric but I chose some small drift wood pieces I had collected from a Californian beach because they reminded me of whales, seals and fish. This might not at first sight look like a collection of things you keep that might come in useful one day, but it is. The two sticks I keep in case I need them to support plants, The bird feeder pole has been useful for hanging other things - here tea light lanterns and baskets. Old plant pots are always useful. The dead branches of the pot bound camelia might sprout again. Who knows.  The Front Fence. C Lamb . & Apr 2020. Ink. 4x6". This challenge was a view to include the road outside ones house.
