Sometimes you feel a painting is just not finished, and it niggles at you. This month I had the chance to revisit two of my previous pond paintings. In Scotland at Inshriach nursery I was able to spend two more days on the pond but once again some of it done in the rain under a brolly. And an extra day at Wick Quarry. To see the changes look at the versions in the previous blog pages for 14/6/2015 and 3/7/2016.

Back for a third holiday to the Gardeners Cottages at Inshriach Nursery near Aviemore. This time in July. And the same subjects of interest. On the two quiet and dry days while the nursery was shut, I painted these blue mecanopsis by the stream in the informal gardens, along with monkey musk, iris, white Jacobs ladder, pink geraniums and foxgloves. On other days I painted the weathered wooden huts, and the pond.
