I have been asked previously why I spend so much time painting at Cheddar Gorge when there is the lovely Henbury Gorge here in Bristol on the Blaise Castle Estate. The walk through the gorge is lovely and there are many beautiful trees but the cliffs are mostly obscured by straggly tall trees on both sides. I managed to climb above the path and find a gap where a beech tree had fallen to catch a brief view of limestone outcrops for this oil. |
